Ingredients

  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch sticks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Place a baking sheet in the oven to preheat.
  2. Soak cut potatoes in cold water 30 minutes. Drain and pat very dry.
  3. Toss potatoes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. Add olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Toss again.
  5. Spread on the preheated baking sheet in a single layer with space between fries.
  6. Bake 20 minutes, flip, then bake 15-20 more minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Season with extra salt immediately.
